Tapeloop sample pack 01

As i spend a lot of time making tape loops and recording them for hours, i decided it would be nice to make a sample pack.

So, this is a collection of more than 130 samples/recordings made with reel to reel tape loops.
Ambient pads, distant flute, eerie glockenspiels, some detuned synth (one note) samples from DX7 / KORG EX800 and Roland JV1010, foley sounds, rising feedback loops. Sounds along the lines of Boards of Canada, Falls, Hainbach, William Basinski etc

The preview up above is 8 minutes showing the type of sounds covered in the pack. All the recordings are trimmed to have a usable start point and a clean long tail that fades or echos out

I set up tape-loops of different lengths on a Nagra 4.2 and used a variety of tape.
Some old tape, some really old tape and some un-used tape.
Recordings vary in length, some are left to loop numerous times, because cool things happen when the tape loop goes over splice points.

This pack contains :
69 long recordings (vary in length from 20 seconds to a minute or two, pads, Chinese bamboo flute, Kawaii toy piano, Kalimba, Small Guqin, Yamaha Glockenspiel, Wind-chimes, Foley sounds)
63 synth samples (mostly one note samples from Yamaha Dx7 / Korg ex800 / Roland jv1010 / few from vst's i use often)

Important info : These recordings are designed to be re-sampled. They are not clean loops set to a 120 bpm grid, the magic of tape happens when you slow them down and snip bits out. They are recorded to old tapes through an old mixer so they have some hiss attached : ) But the tone of the recordings into a Nagra, especially of acoustic instruments is just amazing, its high fidelity but with that warm warble you want from tape loops. Its the magic of tape.
All samples were recorded to tape with a Nagra 4.2 reel to reel tape machine.
